Ruth Parsons was in London, England but emigrated with parents to South Africa at age 12.
Ruth completed Nursing and Midwifery training in Cape Town, South Africa. She then returned to London in 1985 and worked at St Thomas Hospital. Seconded to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Ruth was sent to Lagos, Nigeria for 6 years.
Ruth Parsons return to England and went to Jubail, Saudi Arabia (Al Fanateer Hospital) for a short period. She then returned to England and worked in Cornwall and in London doing mostly temporary agency work.
In February, 1997, Ruth arrived in the Turks and Caicos Islands to work at the Myrtle Rigby Health Centre as a General Nurse and Midwife.
In Ruth’s own words “Myself along with three other colleagues, we opened the first 24-hour medical facility in Providenciales.”
After working at Myrtle Rigby for 5 years, Ruth joined Dr Slattery at Grace Bay Medical Centre in September 2002 and have been there ever since.
